In the field of infrastructure, the VINCI Energies business units take part in:
- the modernization of networks for the transport, transformation and distribution of energy
- the deployment of infrastructures for new-generation urban and inter-urban mobility
- and also in the development of “tailor-made” solutions dedicated to lighting and to dynamic urban equipment.
Their system integrators' is illustrated through the solutions offered by the networks’ brands: Omexom and Citéos.
Public lighting and urban equipment: accompanying local authorities
In 2009, the high expectations of local authorities in terms of the reduction of energy consumption favored the growth of some of Citéos’ activities. The business units of the brand thus accompany cities in the reduction of expenses linked to their public lighting and bring them new technological solutions to allow them to optimize their consumption.
The enhancement of heritage and festive illumination continue to be the key activities of the brand despite the economic slowdown. Citéos won the Concours Lumières 2009 contest for its lighting enhancement of the Gaillard Crane in La Rochelle.
Moreover, Citéos is benefiting from the high demand from urban areas for dynamic urban equipment: traffic regulation, video protection, road access control, charge ports, etc.
These growth opportunities are also incorporated in public-private partnership (PPP) contracts in order to allow public authorities to spread out their investments over several years.
Focus
The city of Divonne les Bains in eastern France awarded a contract to Citéos covering overall management and modernisation of its public lighting system with the goal of reducing its energy bill by 30%. The contract also included implementation of a solar farm and a hydroelectric power station.
