Contributing to the growth of the innovative information technologies of the future is an ongoing endeavour for VINCI Energies business units.

European network rollout and maintenance

In telecommunications, VINCI Energies is supported by the offerings of its two network brands, Graniou and Axians which are present across Europe. Graniou specialises in engineering, implementation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure and Axians specialises in business communication (voice-data-image). Their services to operators, suppliers of equipment to companies and local authorities range from deployment to maintenance, adapting to structural and technological evolutions: 4G norm, fiber optics, convergence, etc.

Constant growth in business communication needs

Img_axians.jpgDevelopment of computer networks, new information technologies such as video conferencing, the convergence of means of communication: the demand from companies in France and Europe is growing constantly. The recent economic situation has forced them to rationalise their costs and to work towards new, more economical solutions. Axians has responded to their needs with offers that make a difference, especially for voice over IP, combined fixed/mobile technologies and the development and securing of networks and information systems.

This allowed the brand to reach 2009 revenues equivalent to those of 2008, with a higher volume of orders.

Axians’ emblematic projects in the course of the year included: the outfitting of the studios of the European Parliament in Brussels, the computer network of the new Netherlands main office of Manpower in Diemen, and the computer infrastructure of the new French main office of IBM in La Garenne-Colombes.

  • The adidas Group moved its head office to new premises in Amsterdam that were large enough to accommodate its subsidiary Reebok as well. To set up the new common space, adidas called on Axians to implement the new IT network infrastructure, including wireless rollout and a backup system to ensure high availability and upgrade potential. Following this project, Axians was asked to install the new IT network at adidas’ distribution centre in Maasvlakte.
