On 5 October, the city of Thiers (in the Puy-de-Dôme region in central France) awarded the city's 15-year public lighting maintenance contract to VINCI Energies under a public-private partnership (PPP). This is the first PPP won by VINCI Energies; it covers power supply and management, upkeep, maintenance and replacement of installations (3,700 lighting points), design and implementation of the lighting plan and festive illuminations.
This is the third French lighting PPP – following Auvers-sur-Oise (in 2005) and Castelnau-le-Lez (awarded in the first half of 2006) – and the largest in France to date.
