VINCI Energies designed and built the fire protection system for the high-rack "freezer" in Saint-Dizier (eastern France) belonging to COGESAL-MIKO (Unilever Group). With a floor area of 6,000 m² and a height of 35 m, the freezer, which is operated at a temperature of -25°C, was equipped with a dual-detection Sprinkler system comprising 7,900 heads. The work lasted 14 months.

Omexom (high voltage power transmission and transformation) was selected by RTE to bury a dual 63kV line over a distance of 8.5 km in the region of Souillac (South West of France). Work will be completed by April 2006.

After awarding to VINCI Energies the electrical works package in the construction of its new warehouse and storage facility buildings in France - approximately 5 new construction projects per year - the Thiriet Group (frozen food) also awarded the electrical maintenance contract for its 160 warehouses and storage facilities to VINCI Energies. Signed for a period of 18 months, the contract provides for around-the-clock on-call service 7 days a week as well as exclusive implementation of flat-rate electrical works.

The project began last March and should be completed in May 2006.

VINCI Energies will install the refrigeration facilities for three tuna boats built in Concarneau (Brittany) by the Piriou shipyards. VINCI Energies is designing and installing refrigerated freight units in these 80 meter-long fishing boats. These are tanks in which the tuna is either frozen at -20° or chilled to be sold fresh upon arrival in port.

Opteor has secured contracts for multi-technical maintenance at two branches of Assédic, the French unemployment benefit agency. The first contract covers the offices of the Pays du Nord branch, and the second is for property maintenance at 18 sites of the Pas de Calais branch. The contracts include the maintenance of high and low voltage networks; heating, air conditioning and fire detection systems; and occupant services.

- Illumination of cities in Brittany
Citéos (lighting solutions) has just won several public lighting (works, repair and maintenance) contracts in Brittany and was in particular awarded contracts by Quimper, Gouesnou, Châteauneuf-du-Faou, Le Releuq-Kerhuon, Lesneven and Concarneau. For the holiday season, Citéos implemented the festive illuminations in Quimper, Concarneau, Rosporden and Trégunc.

- First public lighting PPP for VINCI Energies!
On 5 October, the city of Thiers (in the Puy-de-Dôme region in central France) awarded the city's 15-year public lighting maintenance contract to VINCI Energies under a public-private partnership (PPP). This is the first PPP won by VINCI Energies; it covers power supply and management, upkeep, maintenance and replacement of installations (3,700 lighting points), design and implementation of the lighting plan and festive illuminations.
This is the third French lighting PPP – following Auvers-sur-Oise (in 2005) and Castelnau-le-Lez (awarded in the first half of 2006) – and the largest in France to date.

VINCI Energies Contracting has been tapped to build two 161 kV transformer stations in Djougou (Northern Togo) and Parakou (Northern Benin) within 18 months. The stations are to interconnect the two countries. Funded by the World Bank, the project is being carried out with Omexom.

Within the framework of biofuel approvals, Cristal Union, the 2nd largest sugar group in France, awarded to VINCI Energies the globally integrated electrical systems, automation and instrumentation works packages of its Bazancourt site in northern France, a sugarbeet distillery with a production capacity of 1.25 million hectolitres of ethanol per year.

Two Actemium (solutions for industry) business units were awarded a contract by the Bonduelle food processing group to transfer the 4 Cassegrain production lines from the Flaucourt to the Estrées-Mons plant and revamp them. The business units are also implementing automation and flow control at the Estrées-Mons plant and automating a deep-freeze process.

G+H Schallschutz, the VINCI Energies German subsidiary specialising in acoustic insulation, has been awarded a contract for design, production and delivery of two exhaust systems, one for Alstom for a new gas power plant in Wagerup in Australia and the other for Siemens in a new gas power plant in Ca Mao in Vietnam.

- Communications network for the A86 tunnel (Paris Region)
Graniou (telecommunication infrastructure) will install the radiocommunications system for the A86 tunnel, which is now under construction west of Paris. Graniou will outfit the 20 kilometers of tunnel with radiating cables to provide continuity for police, fire brigade and paramedic communications networks.
