D-2 before the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre

VINCI Energies is performance partner of the Initiatives-Cœur sailboat, which is going to take the start of the 13th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre, on 5 November.

During the race, you could follow the sailboat in real-time with the live, based on the actual navigation data and the information transmitted by our two skippers: Sam Davies et Tanguy de Lamotte.

VINCI Energies signed a four-year sports and charity partnership with the Initiatives-Cœur sailboat in September 2017. The goal of the project, initiated in 2012 together with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, is to save children born with heart defects who cannot be operated on in their home countries. The sailboat’s participation in high-profile sailing races and the funding provided by the partners gives Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque strong media coverage and enables it to raise public awareness of its cause. Initiatives-Coeur has made it possible to operate on 127 children over the past five years.

Initiatives-Cœur is an IMOCA class monohull, which has a regulatory length of 60 feet. The IMOCA Open 60s are specially designed for solo and double-handed ocean sailing. The VINCI Energies partnership is designed to further boost the project by increasing the performance of the boat, drawing greater attention to the cause and thus to save even more children.
