Energy efficiency for the lighting of the city of Aix-les-Bains

2011-02-18 : Energy efficiency for the lighting of the city of Aix-les-Bains
Aix-les-Bains has called on Citéos within the framework of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract, taking effect as of January 15.

This includes in particular the management of energy consumption, the renovation and maintenance of public lighting, traffic regulation, festive illumination and the lighting of the heritage sites of the city in order to improve energy efficiency and to guarantee the safety and comfort of the residents of Aix.

The renovation program proposed by Citéos will make it possible to very rapidly guarantee the safety of all of the lighting facilities, to totally remove the old three-color lights and to replace 44% of the city’s 6,000 light fixtures.

Furthermore, a remote monitoring system will make it possible to constantly monitor the functioning of the electrical power supply network in full safety and to detect leakage currents and insulation problems.
In order to optimize the lighting and to adapt it to the personality of each neighborhood, a Lighting Plan was specially designed for Aix-les-Bains.

The new equipment, of the latest generation, will allow for better lighting with lower energy consumption and reduction of light pollution. It can be upgraded, allowing the city to benefit from the latest innovations throughout its partnership with Citéos. In some neighborhoods, the lighting will use an advanced movement detection technology, allowing for energy savings of up to 80%!
