The 800 VINCI Energies business units have taken initiatives to be involved in their economic and social environments through solidarity and good citizenship projects.

Supporting job placement programs

VINCI Energies is working alongside job placement associations such as the École de la deuxième chance (Second chance school) and Epide, a public job placement establishment under the supervision of the Ministries of Defense and Employment. In March 2007, a national convention was signed on the Group level with this organization. Epide’s mission is social insertion and job placement for young people who volunteer for this program at the end of a comprehensive educational project.

GEIQ for job placement for the long-term unemployed

The Groupements d’Employeurs pour l’Insertion et la Qualification (GEIQ – Employers’ Consortiums for Job Placement and Qualification) are involved in the development of training programs to support job placement for people in difficulty or who are marginalized.

In 2006, the VINCI Foundation for Cities took part in the establishment of the Ile-de-France GEIQ with the help of the Group’s business units. Fourteen VINCI Energies business units of the Paris region are now involved in this non-profit association (under the law of 1901). In conjunction with the Local Job Placement Plan (PLIE), local delegations and other job placement associations, the Ile-de-France GEIQ works to provide long-term unemployed persons with:

training, particularly for service sector electricians, fitters for public lighting and heating specialists, through vocational training organizations,
professionalization contracts within the VINCI Energies business units with professional accompaniment from a dedicated tutor,
Social accompaniment from GEIQ agents for help in management of everyday life.

These 3 approaches together make this system efficient.

In practice

  • In 2009, the Ile-de-France GEIQ is managing 90 professionalization contracts including 16 with the VINCI Energies business units. In 2008, 70% of these contracts led to hirings.
  •

  • In the Rhône-Alpes, a training program for public lighting fitters was developed within the framework of the Savoie Construction and Public Works GEIQ by a VINCI Energies Director.
