This environmental policy, supported by management as a whole, is headed in the business units and on the ground by Environment Correspondents. At every level, everyone is responsible for implementing it.

Self-evaluation, the key to success

VINCI Energies has introduced indicators to monitor consumption and quantify greenhouse gas* emissions within each of its entities; the resulting information is then used as the basis for defining action to be taken.
Every quarter, Group business units measure the change in their results and prioritise action to achieve their predetermined objectives.

(*) ISO 14064 standard, Scope 2. Covers direct emissions [fuel (lead-free diesel) + natural gas + domestic fuel] + electricity.

A few examples of action taken by VINCI Energies business units

Work on energy efficiency of buildings: consumption analysis, building classification study in the Sud Ouest division.

  • Generalised use of occupancy detectors and timers
  • Videoconferencing equipment installed in premises to limit employee travel
  • Employee awareness-raising of eco-driving and car-pooling

Waste optimisation

  • End-of-life light bulb treatment and introduction of collection points
  • Development worksite energy audit calculation tools: primary energy used, materials, origin, end of life, etc.
