As part of their environmental engagement, VINCI Energies business units promote energy-saving and green processes in relations with their customers.

Supporting customers in their sustainable development programs

Illumination de Noël à QuimperSince 2008, VINCI Energies has been participating in the Ecoquartier programme initiated by the French government during the Grenelle Environment Forum. Sustainable urban development provides an enormous opportunity to innovate.

VINCI Energies offers its customers tailored energy efficiency solutions. The Group’s business units also work with local authorities to help them improve quality of life for their citizens. For example, they have taken part in the construction of HQE (high environmental quality) buildings in the greater Paris area.

For a number of years, Citéos has been raising energy efficiency awareness among local authorities, for which public lighting accounts for 40% of the electricity bill. The brand recommends suitable solutions based on solar, wind and other innovative technologies to help them reduce their consumption.

  • Implementation of a remote control radio system to control lighting and electronic ballast in Abbeville, France,
  • Christmas illuminations in the city of Quimper in 2008: the use of very low consumption LED bulbs (which consume 90% less power than conventional incandescent bulbs) reduced the city’s electricity bill by 75%,
  • Renovation and optimisation of public equipment in the city of Rouen under a public-private partnership (PPP) will generate 27% energy savings and use 10% green energy.

Opteor for its part, has developed a new dedicated energy efficiency offering for its customers. The Opteor network is performing audits and installing energy metering stations at 200 sites belonging to the Auchan supermarket chain, with the goal of reducing water, gas and electricity consumption by 25% in five years.
