At the core of our business units' project

The diversity and equal opportunity approach concerns all of the Group’s business units and is part of all of their projects. Specific training is offered within the VINCI Energies Academy. Working groups on diversity and equal opportunity topics have been formed. Management’s involvement, as close to the field as possible, supports this approach. In the Group’s business units, positive and negative discrimination do not exist; the only things that count are professional competency and the confidence given to everyone so that they can prove themselves on the job.

People with disabilities

Working groups revealed three orientations for progress for handicapped people:

  • Maintaining the employment of people who encounter aptitude restrictions;
  • Adopting a proactive policy of hiring and calling on contractors who employ handicapped people to provide services;
  • Consciousness-raising for all employees to overcome the various blockages..

The welcoming and integration of handicapped people

The case of SDEL Contrôle Commande is revealing with regard to efforts for welcoming and integrating people with handicaps. Last year, this business unit of the VINCI Energies Group received the Job Placement Trophy for hiring Jérémy Legault, who has learning disabilities. Jérémy quickly adapted to the company, signed a permanent contract in October 2008 and now works in dismantling electrical equipment, handling warehousing tasks and distributing mail.

The return of employees who were injured or ill

The German company G+H Industrie Service GmbH (BASF) implemented a professional reintegration plan on three occasions. Collaboration with the occupational health service allowed for the implementation of an individualized approach to adapt the job and work load of the employee.

Partnerships

The group forms partnerships with specialized organizations and associations to promote job placement for handicapped people.

The partnership provides for a plan of action to promote better taking into account of handicap situations through consciousness-raising, information, training and accompaniment actions. The goal is also to create a context that is favorable for the recruitment and welcoming of people with acknowledged handicaps.

  • Partnerships with UNEA** and the APF*** (2006)
These partnerships allow for the development of recourse to structures that employ handicapped people.

* Fund for job placement for handicapped people
** National Union of Adapted Companies (adapted companies employ at least 80% handicapped employees)
*** Association of paralyzed people of France
