Omexom's teams in Spain have won a new EPC contract for Solana Renovables SL.
The contract covers the design and construction of a step-up substation supporting two photovoltaic power plants in La Solana, Ciudad Real, Spain.
The project includes detailed engineering, civil engineering and equipment procurement, as well as the complete execution of common infrastructure and complementary installations.
Work began in January 2025 and the substation is expected to be commissioned by the end of the same year. Once operational, it will enable the transmission of 100 MW of solar energy, equivalent to the annual consumption of 2,000 households, while contributing to a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 50 tonnes per year.
