The world’s largest lignosulfonate factory

The Actemium company INAC Process AB was chosen as the strategic partner for major installation works as part of this ambitious project.

The Swedish industrial forestry group Södra has launched a large-scale initiative to accelerate its transition toward sustainable materials, with construction of the world’s largest lignosulfonate production plant now under way in Mönsterås. The plant is due to be commissioned in 2027.

Actemium has been involved from the earliest stages of the project, supplying essential infrastructure such as junction boxes and air distribution systems. This partnership is based on a trust relationship established over many years and on Actemium’s recognised technical expertise.

“This project reflects the solidity of our expertise and the quality of the relationship we have built with Södra,” says Robert Persson, Managing Director of INAC Process AB.

The next phase of the project, from November 2025 to January 2027, will occupy between 10 and 30 Actemium employees, who will be performing complex technical operations:

  • Connecting 2,500 instruments
  • Installing 100 junction boxes
  • Installing control racks and cross-connections
  • Routing and laying multi-conductor cables

“We are entering a decisive stage of the project,” says Thomas Tweedie, Project Manager at Actemium. “Our contribution is not limited to the installation phase – we also work upstream on planning and preparation, highlighting our role as a strategic partner.”
