In response to an increase in rejected packages and a lack of visibility in its systems, the Netherlands-based TeCo CDC distribution centre called on Actemium to modernise its automated packaging lines.
The TeCo CDC logistics centre, which handles more than 12,000 orders a day, recently upgraded its packaging lines. Faced with ageing control systems and corrupted data, the site was recording more than 1,400 rejected packages a day – almost 12% of total orders.
To remedy this situation, TeCo CDC turned to Actemium. Following a detailed pre-engineering phase, the Actemium teams replaced old equipment with new, modern Siemens devices. They also installed software to facilitate communication between the machines and the warehouse management system, along with enhanced label printing functionality.
Despite a tight schedule during a peak activity period, the project was completed more quickly than expected thanks to close collaboration between TeCo CDC and Actemium’s technical teams.
