Working alongside La Cigalette

On 24 January 2025, with support from the Fondation VINCI pour la Cité, the Citeos business unit in Avignon was able to present the La Cigalette social and cultural centre with a cheque for €20,000.

Since 1980, the La Cigalette association has been working in a priority development neighbourhood in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, southeastern France. Thanks to the commitment of its 10 employees and 90 volunteers, it is able to offer help in a variety of ways, including educational support, public and cultural events, nutritional projects, and digital inclusion workshops.

Flavien Simon, the business unit manager at Citeos Avignon, took the initiative to introduce his employees to the Fondation VINCI’s missions. These are to promote equal opportunities and to support selected social and professional inclusion initiatives in the region. The Fondation VINCI also encourages VINCI employees, including from VINCI Energies, to get involved.

Finding themselves moved by the values promoted by La Cigalette, Mourad Boubkari and Farid Loukili decided to get involved themselves alongside their unit manager, Flavien Simon, and become sponsors for the association. “This project spoke to me because above all, I wanted to share human values and meet like-minded people,” recalls electrician Mourad Boubkari. “When I was young, I had experience with charity, and that’s why I offered to become a sponsor and help younger people.”

In addition to the financial support, the Citeos business unit in Avignon provided La Cigalette with materials to create street furniture and planters, which were installed on the allotments at the city racecourse.
