With a 46-year career to his credit, Jörg Pawlitz, a workplace safety specialist at Calanbau Brandschutzanlagen GmbH, a VINCI Energies Building Solutions – Fire Protection Solutions entity, he personifies the transformation of technical passion into human engagement.

In 1986, after an apprenticeship as a gas and water fitter, he specialised in fire suppression systems, fascinated by the precision and complexity of the networks. As a site foreman, then installation manager, he pursued his career in the Netherlands and Germany, managing teams, subcontractors and logistics.

In 2023, a growing awareness that “Protecting people is paramount”  led him to pivot into workplace safety. In 2025, with support from VINCI Energies, he obtained SIFA certification as a workplace safety specialist.

Today, he identifies risks, trains teams and analyses accidents, presenting safety as a protection, never a constraint. “I’m an advisor, not a law enforcement officer.”

His role also extends to material recycling, reflecting his vision that “Safety is the foundation of sustainable development.”

A huge fan of sailing, fishing and nature, in which he finds “a way to unwind that promotes concentration and serenity”, Jörg Pawlitz has set himself a clear course: “To instil a long-term safety culture, remain loyal to the business, and always lead by example – stagnation is not an option.”
