VINCI Stiftung – Providing children with extra-curricular activities in Germany

The Livingroom association is a welcome centre for children and families in need. It offers educational projects based on the themes of diet, manual work, reading and writing.

Livingroom is an extra-curricular programme open to children and young people aged 7–21 from the Meiderich district of Duisburg. The association helps young people who are not in education by offering them mentoring and practical assistance. A team of two education professionals and 17 volunteers support the young people.

I’ve met some fantastic, committed people. Our support is important and the right thing to do!

The pandemic affected many social institutions and their projects. Fortunately, the Duisburg Livingroom association was able to finish developing its own activities. Its new low-cost “Eltern-Kind-Cafe” in the centre of Duisburg-Meiderich is a place where local parents, especially those who are isolated, can meet up. An age-appropriate play area was recently set up for their children.

Drazen Petrovic, an employee at Omexom Smart Technologies GmbH, is delighted to be the project’s sponsor: “I’ve met some fantastic, committed people. Our support is important and the right thing to do!”
