Located 35 km south of Paris, the new national hub for GLS France is now the nerve centre of its logistics network. With volumes constantly increasing, the company needed a platform capable of considerably increasing its daily sorting capacity and the number of regional destinations served. 

To ensure this successful transformation, GLS France selected Actemium Lyon Logistics, which worked with GLS in co-creation mode to design a solution tailored to the site’s unique features: 

• Incorporating the constraints inherent in the building and its 114 HGV loading bays. 

• Optimising truck and pallet flows. 

• Design and integration of control, inspection and tracking systems. 

Capable of processing up to 350,000 packages a day, the platform is based on cutting-edge infrastructure: 

• 16 drop lines. 

• High-speed cross-belt sorter with 82 discharge points for standard packages. 

• A dedicated sorter for smaller packages. 

• Two stations for oversize products. 

All the equipment is controlled by Actemium’s WCS software solution, which is enhanced by custom functions developed for the customer. 

Alongside Actemium Lyon Logistics, six other business units from the Actemium network contributed to this project. Together, they mobilised their complementary expertise across the entire intralogistics value chain: engineering, industrial project management, automation, monitoring, WCS development, digital solutions, installation and maintenance.
