VINCI Stiftung supports the Circus Schnick Schnack

The Circus Schnick Schnack in Herne is an independent youth welfare organisation operating in the socio-cultural sphere. The Fondation VINCI and other patrons helped with purchasing the heaters, along with new floor coverings for the Big Top’s entrance.

The Circus Schnick Schnack offers development and integration projects for 850 young people from disadvantaged or immigrant backgrounds. A team of 12 trained educators oversees 34 volunteer trainers and around a hundred volunteers involved in makeup, props, costume making and technical support, as well as external projects with schools and other youth welfare institutions.

New heating system, new circus

For its many projects, the circus uses a 1,000 sq. metre Big Top tent all year round. In 2020, projects had to be cancelled because the dilapidated heating system had stopped working. For the circus to continue with its projects reliably, it needed three new heaters. The Fondation VINCI and other patrons helped with purchasing the heaters, along with new floor coverings for the Big Top’s entrance and several other training rooms.

Christian Tenge, a field service engineer at G+H Isolierung, is the organisation’s sponsor.

“The Fondation VINCI is a major new partner for the circus”, says circus director Rainer Deutsch. “It’s helping us continue our educational work with children and young people in our region, and the renovation of the heating system is an essential first step toward improving our working conditions.”
