Rallying everyone to save as many children as possible with the VINCI Energies runners of the heart

VINCI Energies formed a team of runners of the heart to fly the flag for the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity to mark the Tour de France stage from Briançon to Alpe d’Huez.

On 10 July, 25 VINCI Energies employees took on an exceptional challenge – a 170 km race with 4,700 m of altitude gain and two mountain passes, the Col du Galibier and Col de la Croix de Fer, before the legendary Alpe d’Huez climb. Their efforts contributed to fundraising for Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, a charity that brings children suffering from heart defects who cannot be treated in their own countries to France for surgery.

Whether in athletic challenges or at the workplace, we are stronger together. We need that team spirit and that feeling of rallying around a shared project to go further and make it a success.

What’s more, during the Tour de France (1 to 24 July), VINCI Energies automatically gave €0.20 to the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity for every 30 points earned by employees who signed up to the “All runners of the heart” challenge on the United Heroes sports app.

Thanks to these initiatives, a total of €22,693 has been collected so far – enough to fund at least one operation for a child with heart defects.
