Omexom connects Sweden’s largest solar park to the grid

Omexom in Sweden has been assigned a contract with ESEM (Eskilstuna Strängnäs Energi & Miljö) to electrify the Swedish largest solar park, located in Härad, between Eskilstuna and Strängnäs.

The park consists of 50,000 solar panels on an area of 45 acres, and will have an installed effect of 20 MW. This could be compared with the total installed capacity of 23 MW obtained by other solar parks in Sweden altogether.

Omexom in Sweden is in charge of excavation work, deployment, connecting the park to the power grid and commissionning.

The park will have an installed effect of 20 MW, that could be compared with the total installed capacity obtained by other solar parks in Sweden altogether.

Omexom’s operations were initiated in August 2020, and in December the same year, the solar park started delivering sustainable energy to ESEM’s (Eskilstuna Strängnäs & Miljö) grid. The solar park is scheduled to be fully operational in December 2021.

Philippe Guérin, CEO at Omexom (Infratek Sweden), says: “Our ambition is to provide our customers with sustainable solutions good for both people and our planet. With this project, we are proud to contribute to the energy transition in Mid Sweden and are looking forward to pursue the development of new green offers.”
