Bertrand Leclerc on high alert

A pure “home-grown” product of VINCI Energies, where he began as a student intern, its cybersecurity director is a seasoned ultra-trail runner who combines endurance and vigilance to protect an international group constantly exposed to cyber threats.

A seasoned ultra-trail runner, Bertrand Leclerc, aged 43, will be taking part on 28 August 2026 in the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc, an extreme test that echoes his professional life. Now the cybersecurity director at VINCI Energies, since 2018 he has managed a department he created from scratch, which has grown from four to fifty experts working from numerous sites and organised in line with the Follow the Sun strategy to ensure continuous protection for some 2,200 VINCI Energies business units in 61 countries.

In the face of thousands of security events daily, his priorities include process automation, controlled use of artificial intelligence, the Security by Design strategy, regulatory compliance (NIS 2, AI Act) and reducing the environmental footprint of IT infrastructure.

Having joined the Group as a student intern in 2001, he describes himself as “a pure VINCI Energies product” and embodies a vision of cybersecurity based on endurance, vigilance and continuous adaptation: qualities as essential in ultra-trail races as in cyberspace.
