Legnano office of Italian Red Cross is becoming greener thanks to Actemium Italy

Actemium is to carry out technological optimisation and energy efficiency works for the new head office of the Italian Red Cross Committee in Legnano near Milan, Italy.

The new head office of the Italian Red Cross Committee in Legnano, a municipality home to around 60,000 people in northern Italy, will house the 700 members and 40 employees who work every day to serve the public in the region.

Actemium started technological optimisation and energy efficiency works on site in late July. The project covers electrical, data and audio systems, access control, and the installation of 20kW solar PV panels and a storage battery. This will make it possible to implement highly innovative solutions both from a technological and environmental point of view.

With annual electricity generation estimated at 23.12Mwh, the project will help reduce CO2 emissions by 5.92 tonnes, the equivalent of 272 planted trees.

Entry to the building will be much faster and more seamless thanks to IP door access control which identifies users remotely and through smartphone Bluetooth technology. With IP door, occasional users can also be assigned a virtual key to ensure autonomous access.

Actemium teams are working over a surface area of around 950 sq m, entirely devoid of facilities. The works not only cover the refurbishment of a warehouse currently used for vehicles, but also the construction in the same building of office space. This therefore requires connections to the electrical and telecommunications systems.
