DPCM: a software to optimise data center infrastructures

Axians Infrastructure Software, a German BU of Axians, the VINCI Energies brand dedicated to ICT, has developed the “Dynamic Power Cloud Manager” (DPCM).

It’s a cloud management tool allowing IT companies to exploit full potential of their “IBM Power” systems. By operating only the servers needed, DPCM enables energy savings of around 30%.

DPCM automates and manages crucial IBM Power infrastructures, which run business critical systems for customers in the aeronautics, automotive, banking and telecom sectors. Although systems have become more efficient in recent years, the need for computing performance has increased even more.

DPCM offers two benefits: it automates the most important work and offers extremely powerful monitoring, including capacity optimization that allows you to check the real resources needed. Thus, users have the option of running only required systems and shutting down those that not required, thus achieving approximately 30% savings in energy and operational costs. Further it allows to optimization of processor (CPU) assignments which contributes as well to a significant reduction of power consumption once processor pools are right-sized.

An offer that is in line with Axians’ strategy to contribute to the sustainability strategy of its customers.
